The easiest way to keep track of your balance is with our mobile app or online banking. Just log in and you'll see a list of all your accounts with balances.

To view or download your bank statements going back up to 7 years:

1. Log in to online banking (opens in a new window)
2. Select ‘Statements & transactions’ from the main navigation
3. Under 'Your statements', select 'Statements'
4. Follow the on-screen instruction

For new customers

If you're new to NatWest International, we'll post your Mastercard debit card and PIN separately. You should receive these within a few days of opening your account. Instructions on activating your card will be included.

Expiring debit cards

Your replacement card will arrive at least one week before the existing card is due to expire. The date on which your card will expire is the last day of the month in the year printed on the front of your card. It is shown as 'Expires End MM/YY'.

Please begin to use your replacement card as soon as it has arrived and securely destroy your old card.

Remember to amend any existing payments you have set up with your old card number such as magazine subscriptions, online shopping sites or annual insurance renewals.

Please be aware that if you haven't used your card for a period of at least 13 months prior to expiry, we don't automatically replace your card. Using your debit card with your card-reader to approve a new payee within Online Banking will not be recognised as card activity.

Can't find your debit card? Not sure if it's down the side of the sofa or if you've dropped it at the supermarket? 

With our mobile app or online banking you can freeze your debit card so it can't be used until you find it again. When you find your card you can remove the block.

How to freeze your debit card

If you think your debit card has been lost or stolen, you can freeze your card which instantly stops it being used by anybody.

If you're sure the card is lost or stolen, please let us know as soon as possible.

With our mobile app

To make a payment or transfer with our mobile app:

1. Log in to our mobile app
2. Tap ‘Payments’ on the bottom of the home screen
3. Choose the account that you want to make the payment from
4. Choose the transaction type:
   
   
   • For a transfer, tap 'Transfer money - Between accounts'
   • For a payment, tap 'Send money - Make a Payment'
5. Follow the on-screen instructions

With online banking

To make a payment or transfer with online banking:

1. Log in to online banking (opens in a new window)
2. Select ‘Payments & transfers’ from the main navigation
3. Select an account to make the payment from
4. Under 'Select who to pay':
   
   
   • For a transfer, choose 'Transfer money between your NatWest International accounts'
   • For a payment, choose 'Pay someone new' or 'Pay one of your saved payees'
5. Follow the on-screen instruction
   

Making an international payment using the mobile app or online banking is just as secure as it is to make one in branch. You can make a payment to a new or an existing payee, quickly and easily, in the comfort of your home.

How do I send money abroad?

Direct debits

Direct debits are requested from your account by the beneficiary (the person who receives the money from your account), and are not created by you.

To arrange a new direct debit, you will need to sign a direct debit mandate which is provided to you by the organisation you wish to pay and return it back to them. The organisation will then set up the direct debit mandate with us.

Standing orders

A standing order is a regular payment that you control. You tell us to pay a fixed amount to someone straight from your account at regular intervals. The money is taken from your account automatically on a set date.

You can create, amend or cancel a standing order using our mobile app, online banking, using Telephone banking or in branch.

You can increase or reduce the limits for payments made from your mobile app or online banking. The daily maximum for personal customers is  £20,000.

We recommend setting the payment limits to a level that suits your requirements.

How to manage your payment limits

If you want to choose your own contactless payment limit for your Mastercard debit card, below the standard £100 limit, you can now do so in your mobile app.

To choose a different limit, simply;

1. Log in to our mobile app
2. Tap on the current account linked to your debit card
3. Choose the option ‘Manage my card & Apple Pay / Google Pay’
4. Tap ‘Card payment controls’
5. Select ‘Contactless’
6. Choose 'Change contactless limit'
7. Select a contactless limit between £5 and £100
8. Tap ‘Save’ to confirm your new limit

If you set your contactless limit below £100, this limit will also apply to contactless Apple Pay or Google Pay™ transactions.
